In order to substitute as a teacher, you must either currently hold a Kentucky Teacher Certificate or have 64 college credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.45.

 

In order to apply, the following additional forms will need to be completed prior to criminal background check.  All of these forms can be found in the documents tab of the application process website.

Applicants not holding a current teaching certificate must create an account at www.epsb.ky.gov.  Once all information has been received and verified, your EPSB account will be updated and you can then complete the Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate Application.

BASIC FUNCTION: As needed/called by the district.  To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women in the absence of the regular teacher.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and to communicate these objectives to students, as adopted by the local and state Board of Education.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Currently hold a Kentucky Teacher Certificate or Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate.  To apply for an Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate, state regulations require a minimum of 64 college hours and a minimum GPA of 2.45.
